The French schools have mandatory English classes but for some reason in English school it is NOT mandatory to take French. This is totally messed up because Canada has TWO official languages and yet it is only in Quebec that this is in any way encouraged..

I don't think it's any easier in another language. Probably there are exceptions to the rules in all of them.

Same in Belgium. French is compulsory in Flanders and DG, but Dutch isn't in Wallonia. And Brussels depends on communities.

DG =Deutsche Gemeinschaft = German Community

That's silly to me. To have 2 official languages but make no attempt to help people to learn both. They will help an 'immigrant' to learn BOTH languages for free but if you already live here you have to pay.. Dumb.

I wouldn't know because I don't know how they say it the Luxembourg way :p

For you (2), as it is pronounced. The "e" from "moien" is pronounced in Luxemburgish. Though, if you'd use "moin", they'd understand as well. And some say "mooien", depending where in Luxemburg. (be aware for people on the American continent, the country is passed through in half an hour!!! :D)
