Now that we are talking about this, I'll just add newbie question because I still am one. How much before festival they usually add it to webpage?

Those maps usually arrive around May-June-July. Depending on how the orga feels like. So... no worries yet.
But no, Haven't gone since 2010, so I don't keep in touch with it anymore.

I think I'll be fine as long as I get one there. I have to mark my tent so when (no, not if) I get lost I can just show people where I wan't to go.
I don't think I can get lost on my way there. I have almost 2 hours to find metal travel bus and when we get to Wacken I'll just follow everyone else.

On my way there too? I already know I will get lost in there and not just ones but over and over again unless I stay with my friend all the time.

Going TO Wacken is kind of easy. (at least if you come by public transport)

The rest depends on your orientation.

But don't ask me to go to Wacken by car! I wouldn't know.

I found the information staff at Hamburg airport to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the festival. Their whole attitude may have had something to do with me "coming here all the way from Australia to visit" but whatever Had you been travelling by train all you'd have to do is follow the sea of black shirts, or stand around looking metal and a tiny bit lost

Me too On one occasion I was trying to find the medical tent and spent the next 2 hours walking around in circles; I kept ending up near Camp P. I never found the medical tent, but I did find the viking village by accident.
