Well, I've been in C while it was still nice. (next to L at that time), and it went. But over the years... I've been there during day time, and I've seen what's happening. But that's my opinion. And it's maybe "poluted" by the fact I'm partially sighted. (bad eyesight) Who knows.....

Do you have opinion about camping only area/areas?
Everyone elses opinion is more than welcome too :)

Camping A? (Autofrei = car free?)

It's quite nice. (the one time I was there) and the advantage, no cars, so not many assholes, as luggage capacities in a backbag are limited. You can't bring your own food from home, 'cause you'll break your back. It's quite OK.

And close to the bus "station", for the return. :D

We won't have a car so we might choose that.

I only need bus to get there if things go as planned but it is good to know in case I will need a bus to get away from there too. :)

Haven't been there before. I've only been twice and both were in C, so :D

My recommendation as far as camping is to try to choose a spot (in any campground) where the sun won't wake you up and cook you out of your tent. :p If you find a bunch of trees, figure out where the sun will rise, and position your tent that way.

Did that at another festival and it was amazing. :D

It's not that far from the "No Food Area", the Festival area, etc. It's a good place.

ONE general warning, but that goes for everywhere: be aware of thiefs! Wherever many people are, there'll be thieves. Unfortunately that's nothing to do with Wacken, it happens everywhere. :(

Well, the village itself is on that side of the festival, too. So if you wanted to go to the supermarket (which I highly recommend, get beer and food etc extremely cheap compared to festival prices), or other restaurants, the swimming pool, or anywhere else, you'll want to take that into consideration.

Last time, we were on the very far edge of C, and it took forever just to get to the supermarket...

True. Forgot about that.

From Campingground A to the normal supermarket is about 15min. walk. From the far end of R (or C) it's about 30 to 45min. walk. (single trip)

Get a mini grill and some meat. Cook your own food in your campground. :)

Don't try to grill the frozen pizzas though... :D

I don't have to worry about those things. It is really good to have a friend who lives quite close to Wacken and will get a lift there. All I need is my personal things and he can take care of all the other stuff (maybe it also helps that I'm female so guys, even friends, don't want me to carry too much). :D

Or disposable grills, they exist.
I don't know how good they are, but it seams to work.
And take TOILET PAPER!!! That's something you can't live without. The dixies will have them in the morning, but in an hour or so, it's all GONE.
