Well that's really harsh and certainly if they continue with the payment cut. I mean, if they said it was for the month that the certificate was late, you'd still fight it but not be in this much of a bind.

The payment cut is supposed to be monthly for the rest of his life.

The really unfair part is that my dad was a really good and reliable employee. He even showed up to work when his retirement was already certain, although he didn't have to. He did it because they didn't have a replacement yet and asked him to keep coming until they do

His work is supposed to pay him retirement pay. Now he got retired early which means they'll have to pay less. But because of his health condicions, he has a reason to retire early which would override the paying less part

But his work isn't willing to accept that because the medical certificate was only sent to them after he officially got retired, although it was already valid about a month before that (or even 2 years, if you wanna be precise)

Probably the first time in my life I've seen my parents being willing to go to court for something

When the state is involved, or one of its institutions, they tend to twist and cheat all they can. ('cause it always involves €€€)
