His work is supposed to pay him retirement pay. Now he got retired early which means they'll have to pay less. But because of his health condicions, he has a reason to retire early which would override the paying less part

But his work isn't willing to accept that because the medical certificate was only sent to them after he officially got retired, although it was already valid about a month before that (or even 2 years, if you wanna be precise)

The really unfair part is that my dad was a really good and reliable employee. He even showed up to work when his retirement was already certain, although he didn't have to. He did it because they didn't have a replacement yet and asked him to keep coming until they do

Well that's really harsh and certainly if they continue with the payment cut. I mean, if they said it was for the month that the certificate was late, you'd still fight it but not be in this much of a bind.

Really makes you wonder what your working for, you have to give up so much of your salary for your retirement, but there are so many people that don't actually get to enjoy it.

It's even worse when your single and pass away before 65. You can't even give it to a brother/sister or even kids if you do have those. It's only viable with a partner, but not any other kind of relatives.
