you have to take them off at the check in!!!... which takes me half an hour to untie and half an hour to lace up!!!:o

That was one thing I was thinking and yes, same here so maybe sneakers. I am sure I can fit my boots to my bag or if not I'll change the bag :D

Yeah. Scary moment after travelling for 24 hours with no sleep having the security lady shout at me "TAKE OFF YOUR BOOTS" after something kept setting off the alarms (I think it was a spare key but can't be sure).

Well, for a short flight, who cares, as long as your feet are confortable. You're just sitting in the plane anyways.

Same with the train. I'm doing 9hrs with ONE pair of shoes.

I envy all you short-flight people *shakes fist*.

Yep, definitely NOT looking forward to the first and last flight. The food had best be good.

light is less than 2 hours but overall something like 7 hours from home to Wacken (I think it could be done in 5 hours or so but I have some waiting time there).

Solution to bringing heavy bags to fests: pack less stuff

Solution to massive festival boots, even steel toe/plates: wear on the plane, take off once on the plane if needed

Solution to long travel times: get over it, people come from other continents across the ocean.

:o:D

I don't think I will have heavy bag. Size might be the problem though and can't really leave my tent, sleeping bag and bad off :p

I think I'm also going next year.

Forum camp?? Forum meeting??
Would be cool! :)

Wacken or Graspop?

My mum is so precious sometimes :D

Yesterday she told me that on this music TV show there was a reference to an Iron Maiden album. Deep down she know who the band was but couldn't spit the name out at the time. She also couldn't remember which album. The conversation proceded as follows:

"Iron Maiden - what's their best album"
"um...there are a few of them"
"It's got like a skeleton on the cover"
"...mum, they all do!"
"It's one of the albums you have. Give me some names then!"
"Number of the Beast?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"Piece of Mind?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"Powerslave?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"Somewhere in Time?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"...Fear of the Dark?"
"Nah, that's not it"
"That's all I've got"
"Hmmm"

That made my day... thank you :p

It will be worth you time... :D
