The great thing is all these "old bands" are still playing and playing well. Maiden , Preist( somewhat sceptical of the new concept cd), megadeth, all playing to big crowds. Still high energy. I kind of laugh because back in 80's we used to laugh at The Stones and say they are so old, man why don't you just stop...I still say that !!! They won't go away !!! LOL

Yeah I hear ya! Speaking of the stones, I've never been a big fan of theirs, however they played here several years ago and someone gave my wife and I tickets to see them so we went, and I must say that they were impressive, especially for their age. Still didn't get me to run out and buy their albums though.

I agree. Like some of their stuff. Freind of mine saw them, swore it was one of the best shows he ever saw. Said they were incredibly tight. I of course pointed out that, if you were in a band and played the same 20 songs for 20 years , you BETTER be tight !!

If you wipe out the Singer, Songwriter and Bassist in one fell swoop, then it's just not that band ever again IMO. Plus I think with Priest, we always knew or hoped that Rob would be back. Both he as a solo artist and Priest minus him did not do very well success wise.

Ilike his solo stuff. not all. The Halford cd was good( first one ), And the live cd was amazing.

Absolutely! I would have gone to see them if they had played here with Tim, Priest is one of my top 5 bands of all time and I'd love to hear those songs live, but without Halford, it wouldn't be nearly as good.

You know they are on tour or just toured right ?

Well with enough of the original members and say John Sykes or Gary Moore on vocals I'd go and see them. But any new material recorded as Thin Lizzy I could not buy. And yeah some of them get together as Thin Lizzy and tour periodically. They should call it a night of Thin Lizzy music, or a tribute to Thin Lizzy, something like that.
