Mine has been rock solid for over a year, so have my friend's ipods. I have had super good luck with apple products.

i used to have an ipod shuffle, it randomly stopped working within a month...
i seem to have bad luck in general with music players, gone through 2 CD players before that...
my sister still has the same CD players and ipod working fine to this day
