You would only learn some expressions, but once there, no one would understand you!
If you know a bit of the grammer, it will be "much" (= a bit) easier.

what i've been doing is copying stuff you guys write and putting it on google translator [which sucks mostly, but at least it's something] and it kinda works i guess :]

Yep, it's a starter. But as I said, you don't know the grammer, you don't know why some words are placed there and not like in English.
