about how easy would it be for me, only speaking English, to travel around Europe? and especially northern Europe.

Scandinavia - shouldn't be a problem.

Germany - Usually not a problem.

Holland and Belgium - Usually no problem.

Some restaurants might not have English menus or even English speaking staff, but it just makes your dinner more interesting, since you don't know what you'll get :p

What countries are you in for?

Might consider an inter rail pass, or whatever they are called ;)

Pretty much going around with trains as often as you like for a fixed price.

French people just do not want to speak english... they have this attitude like: you are in my country, speak to me in my language

well I do know a bit of Spanish... it's not good, but it's a lot better than my German :p
sooo I could maybe survive in Spain, and Italian is somewhat similar to Spanish as well.
I guess I'll just have to hope for the best in France then :D

well

Germany - as above

France - as above

Spain - I haven't had huge problems, and it's been a awhile, think it would be OK

Portugal - no ide

Italy - From what I've heard it should be OK

The other countries - as above

Finland though, might be a bit of a problem, since their language is so very different. Some speak English well, some not at all.
