Not much has been done by any country or government or really organization to prevent stuff from happening over the years. However, we have seen it coming a while, and some has done more than others.
I'd like to see how it would have looked if more tiem and money had been invested 50 years ago to get alternate power sources and fuel.

well if every body started using the alternate power sources, wouldnt it slow global warming down a bit? i know we cant prevent stuff now, but wouldnt it slow the process down??? i would like to see everybody starting to use solar and wind power for things. nevada uses the hoover dam to keep it running pretty much, but dams can be a bad thing too

if we completely stopped using oil, coal and gas right now

instead started using hydrogen based fuels, wind, solar and water power

everything would get better in the long run, though we've build up a "guilt" that will keep going up a while still

biggest problem I think is that all industrial countries would need to start using less energy than they currently are, that's not something you change in a year or two
