Another funny thing is I was at the airport in Salt Lake City waiting for a plane. I started talking to this guy from the East Coast, and he says where are you from? I say Hawaii, and he says yeah that's it, I could not pinpoint your accent. I had a college room mate from Hawaii and you sound like him. I thought that I have No accent at all.

Well I am sure that to a Kiwi or Aussie there is a huge difference, but to me the dumb American they sound very similar. :D

When I was in France I was confused with being an Australian. At the time I was happy they did. The French were a little Anti NZ in 95 after the rainbow warrior and anti nuclear protests about the atoll

Talking to some non English speakers they cannot note the difference between American, English and us here downunder. The Irish stand out though

When I traveled to WOA in 2003, I wanted to bring a flag with me like many people do, showing where they're from. But then I thought that might be a bad idea since we had just gone to war in Iraq and America is not a very popular country abroad. So I brought a Hawaii flag instead.

Yeah, probably a wise move! but yeah, they should see that we are true metalheads for traveling so far.. For most europeans, its a 2-3 hr train ride...

I wear my flag loud and proud
