I didn't check my teacher's corrections so far, but I'm pretty sure, that "setting s.o. under pressure" is a possible therm. He made it a mistake and corrected "putting under pressure".
Yeah, your teacher is correct in this instance.
The only time I've seen anyone use s.o is in personal ads.
