i had a short look at the homepage of my university, besides the things a german student needs to apply here (abitur (or equivalent), proof of insurance) it looks like you'll only have to do a language test (but you can do that here too...). and after you're accepted a visa.
in short: nothing special
but i'm preety sure i must have missed something, since it looks like you only have to pay the same amount as a german student.
my cousin (studying in the UK(London)) has to pay more than a student from the UK there (don't know the exact amount) and she said she know a student from south africa who has to pay 10k pounds or so!
so the normal 600€ here for a non-EU student sound a bit too cheap to me...
isn't ryan studying in germany now? maybe you should ask him (if you haven't done it yet)
