I had this "wire" (from metal) behind my teeth after my braces were taken out (they do that to make sure your teeth stay in the same pretty position)
and that broke today, so and it was pointing inwards so when I wanted to talking it was sticking in my tongue

the dentist took it out. Said I did not need it anymore anyway.
After wearing braces for a longer period your teeth get loose in your jaw (because of the pulling or pushing of the braces) and it takes a while to get back to normal, but if you don't put anything in to keep your teeth in place they will get out of place and crooked again...
