and then Alestorm... holy crap, they were insane
first US show, and they did absolutely amazing... 11/10 is an understatement
the music sounded great, just the right volume, and they put on a great show visually as well... it was fricken amazing.
and probably my favorite show from all the ones I saw.

Toxic Holocaust did really well also, second time I've seen them...
but their vocalist gained quite a bit of weight from last time :o
oh and that was also the most brutal as far as pits, I got knocked over twice by crowdsurfers falling on top of me... lost a wristband in the process, not to mention it fricken hurt :rolleyes:
but ah well, it was still fun otherwise.

Pig Destroyer was just okay... didn't like the vocals, it was just basically screaming, which was also a lot more prominent due to the guitars not matching the volume

then I only caught the end of Warbringer, they did amazing... wish I could have seen more.
oh and I got to hang out with their vocalist for a bit afterwards, he was really cool.

Týr was insane, second only to Alestorm...
pretty funny too, since after a couple songs the drum monitors apparently were having technical difficulties... and the vocalist was like, well it's a sad day, the drum monitors have left us... or something like that :p
but I guess they fixed them, because the rest of the show was completely amazing.

then my third favorite would have to have been Septic Flesh... amazing show, though they had orchestration/choir parts playing through the speakers, and the sound quality wasn't so great... but still... definately great otherwise, I really got into it.

and last was 1349... really great show, though I guess I was too tired by then to enjoy it as much as I felt like I should have... also my second time seeing them.
got to shake hands with the vocalist though and touch his spiky wristband :D

oh and I also talked to some people along the way... including these two girls, one of which apparently went to Wacken last year. :p
sooo no one I'm actually going to stay in contact with or anything, but I did meet people. :p

but yea, that was seriously the most metal day of my life [so far, anyway]...
not just by the length of time, but I also got like first or second row for nearly every band, sooo it was really cool being so close.

wasn't really bored though, not even in between bands an hour apart... I was either talking to people or just entertaining myself with my thoughts.
was also grateful for a chance to sit down, sooo it worked out :p
