I'm not into soccer (football) at all.
But De Cock is a fictional character in the books of Baantjer (a famous Dutch author, and former police inspector of the Amsterdam Municipal Police on the Warmoesstraat/Warmoes street)
De Cock in this case is some sort of a reflection of himself.

But it's true, De Cock is a common name here in Belgium.
