btw, there's a part in Germany where they commonly talk about females as 'it' :D It's also common to call them 'it' when they are around or to call them by name, even if you talk to them. LIke you'd ask Kris: Geht das Kris in den Laden? Kann es Milch mitbringen?

well it is, because I learned Hochdeutsch and if I am using dialect, then I know it is dialect
