it is really an album that sounds best on big, nice speakers. as opposed to headphones or something. it lets you appreciate the production a lot more, because they do it it sort of a black-metal underproduced way, but yet it actually sounds very good, if you use some big speakers and sort of expose yourself to all the levels of sound.

especially the drums...mein Gott....frost is a beast on the kit.

best drummer in black metal. if hellhammer did more real black metal albums maybe that would change my mind, but he doesn't. though hellhammers groove drumming is really great.

but like on the track 'from the deeps' on hellfire. its such unconventional drumming the whole way through. and he uses his cymbals like knives, just so precise. he's hitting so many skins so quickly, when alot of other drummers try to play that fast and hit that many notes, it just ends up sounding like mush, but when frost does it its so controlled, just gives off this primal feeling of like fury...and yet the average person has never heard of 1349 and can relate in no way to what i'm talking about.

yea, I know what you mean at least... I know 1349 somewhat, and I'm a drummer myself [though I can't really play the drumset itself ]
