apparently last night's deep freeze cut the power off not only last night, but during the day
which somehow screwed everything up, at least as far as the computers...

like this morning, I could only connect to my IMs and like two websites, but eventually the connection died completely
...and now the connection's back [on Wii atm], but the computer won't start at all
