I went to 5 campfestivals and 1 where you sleep with like 400 others in a gym hall, and only on wacken I had something stolen

That does suck. I always heard Wacken was one of the safest festivals for your stuff. I did see the police raiding a bunch of tents on one of the nites though. People said they'd been caught breaking into tents. Heard Download is theftfest though.

yeah I never had problems with woa.. besides two chairs that got stolen...

People did seem to be pretty respectful at most European fests though. People were even leaving crates of beer outside their tents. In Australia that would be gone in less than a minute.
I don't need people to steal from me, I lose enough on my own when I get drunk.

but yeah I think at the real metal festivals not much bad stuff happens..
though at the big commercial festivals shit happens too...

that was so funny at obscene extreme

I wrecked my glasses there so I was walking around very carefully (the site is on a hill so it is sloping and has stairs etc. and its like a woodland) and one night I needed to pee
so I walked outside, between the trees carefully placing my step. So this guy comes up to me and asks if I lost something
So I explain what happened and that I was going for the toilets. So he grabbed my arm and brought me to the dixies
when I was finished he was still waiting there for me and brought me back to the tent (where we had a beer before I went back in)

Any idea about Hellfest? Heard a couple of dodgy stories but that could just be rare exceptions. They don't have lockers at that fest either. But the lineup is insane.

yeah.. I kinda don't know..
on the one hand I remember wacken as a real metal festival.. though last year I saw lots of shit happen..
so I think it's a festival that's moving towards the commercial side... which really is a same..

Yeah, Wacken's got so big people just come for the party even if they don't care about the bands. That's how the shit starts.

Graspop's pretty big and commercial with Maiden, KISS, Priest, etc but that was really laid back and well organised. Didn't see any bad stuff happen there.
Wacken was a lot wilder and more fun around the festival but also more shit happening.
