How to treat the dutch, guide for foreigners

1. Never use the word "Dutch" in front of a Hollander. It reminds him too much of the word "Deutsch" which is a word for Germans and other things he doesn't like. A Dutchman is a Hollander or a Nederlander.

2. Never ever try to speak Hollands even if you have lived in Holland for more than five years. Not only will it give you a splitting headache but also Hollanders won't understand a single word of what you are trying to say. Foreigners are expected to speak English or gibberish. Speaking gibberish they are easy prey for pickpockets since they can't make a report to the police.

yea, the headache think is true...
Actually everyone over there expects me to speak dutch because I need to practice I rather use english though. It gives you advantages

It all plays in the old Amsterdam center, at the police statino of Warmoes Street (Warmoesstraat, all streets are translated into English btw)
2 Bodies are found in the Emperor's Canal (Keizersgracht) fingers strangled in each other. DeKok (an old veteran police Inspector) thinks it's murder, as he never has seen this in his life.
So, against the will of his "commissaris" (an equivalant to the US captain of police) he investigates the matter, and soon there will be a 2nd murder (actually a 3rd and 4th)

All in Amsterdam of course, at the oldest police station of the world.

ah okay, sounds cool...
although personally, I don't really care for murder stories
