Greyhounds?
Took them once from Toronto (ON) to Rochester (NY) and it's fairly confortable.
Only thing, you get the number of tickets for every stop. (and have to give it at every stop)
But well, ça va.

never used it myself though.
I wanted to, but it didn't leave at the right time from Ontario so we took the Greyhound. (which we caught right on time there)

My brother in law used to live in Rochester (NY)
We visited him in 2002, and as I don't like flying at all, my condition was ONLY ONE FLIGHT!
We went to Canada, was cheapest, and took the city bus from the airport to the Greyhound station, and there the bus to Rochester.
We had to stop at the border of course where I received a form in Dutch. (Tip: probeer overal "nee" in te vullen (als 't systeem ondertussen niet is veradnerd) Zijn vragen als: Ben je verslaafd, heb je in 't gevang gezeten etc.)
