vh1 knows nothing about anything....But, Dee Snyder was metal way back when. Twisted Sister were alot better before the "we're not gonna take it " crap...(under the blade is still a kick ass record/cd) And when thay say metal was dead , they mean not as popular..They say metal was dead in the 70's and then Priest and Maiden "saved " it.
They say metal was dead after the 80's then Pantera "saved" metal...then it died out again..blah, blah, blah.
Metal has not nor will not die. At least the good stuff. It is an underground music basically and wasn't meant to be popular.
I am done ..I have no idea where I was going with that , other than I have a large coffee and some extra energy !!!
Good day to all.
we're tied with Wyoming for lowest minimum wage
except Kansas... only $2.65![]()
Exactly...I think a lot of my favorite stuff came out when metal was 'dead' - the mid to late 80s and early 90s...lots of good black and death stuff. Hopefully metal dies again![]()
wow...it's 8 over here![]()
why couldn't I live in Connecticut?
it's like $8+ there![]()
lol, I was watching that too
didn't see anything about SOAD and Linkin Park though, but Twisted Sister was definately metal
and they exaggerate stuff too, sooo![]()
I'm curious what new subgenres would develop if it did![]()
It's when they were talking about Ozzfest, and mentioned how they were bringing metal back with such bands.
Admittedly I don't really know Twisted Sister's stuff but every time I see/hear something it's got Dee in drag and sounds like really crappy hair metal....and hair metal to me =/= metal.
Dunno, real metal seems to be very much dead right now. Seems like all kinds of people like metal, but when you find out what bands they like, it's atreyu or avenged sevenfold or something...
ah yea, I didn't like how they brought Ozzfest into it either [I've seen that like a gazillion times before... even though last night I ended up falling asleep watching it]
well that's your taste I guess, but hair metal was definately considered metal back in the day
say no more... my school is full of them
someone else: "what music do you like?"
me: "metal"
them: "oh me too!"
me [not believing them]: "like what bands?"
them: "slipknot... godsmack... a7x..."
*mental forehead slap*
I'll never accept it as a legitimate form of metal, sorry =P
