I know what you mean, but that's not a problem when buying metal CDs.
Anyway, I've bought about 15 CDs since I live in Germany, and I've never paid more than 4 or 5 € (porto included). That's why I think eBay is cool, or at least the german eBay.

And germans are wise people. If an old CD from, let's say, Sacred Reich (very hard to find on shops, I think) is offered in Spain, I could buy it for 2 or 3 €, but here in Germany there are many people who'd pay 18 €. (that happened yesterday....

Take it easy, don't concentrate too much, or in a few years you'll find yourself ending your degree without knowing what (and where!) to do afterwards.
