actually any body which has even the smallest amount of mass "exerts" gravity
*is not sure about the word "exerts"*
this means if you stand on a grain of sand, this little object is dragging you towards it just like a planet only weaker
and, looking at it the other way round, YOU also exert some force on the grain to make it stay on the ground of your body's planet
