Weihnachtsmärkte? (Christmas Markets?)

Depending on where you are, you might find them in southern NL, but they're rare as well. Maybe in Maastricht. (close to Belgium and Germany)

I remember John wanted to take me to a St. Nicolaus (I guess?) market, but I couldn't make it to NL during that time

There's a difference between Sinterklaas (Nikolaus) and X-mas markets.
Nikolaus is (just) for kids, whereas X-mas is for everybody.
Furthermore, I have never seen Nikolausmärkte in NL (and I lived there for over 30 years ), but that doesn't mean there aren't any. (difference between north and south, and I'm southern here )

Even when I don't like X-mas, I prefer the X-mas markets in Germany (AC, MS) than the Nikolausmarkets on the last weekend before / on the 5th December! (6 in DE, BE)
