my general view, germany compared to the area where I live is that germany is cheaper when it comes to beer.

In a pub, or in a supermarket? (that's what I meant)
€2,80 for a beer (33cl??) is rather expensive.
But beer in the supermarket is cheaper than in NL.

Well, it's at least the cheapest way. From Aachen Süd Grenze to Aachen Hbf with RailPlus (-25%) is like 3,40€. Should I go via Luxemburg, from Sterpenich frontière to Luxembourg is already €5,50. And then I'm not in Trier (Hbf) yet!

And the option via Maastricht and Venlo... is no option at all. It's like asking you to take the train to Liège to get to Moers.

I've been there once, coming from Wanna-Eickel (Hbf) going to Luxembourg. I had to change in Trier Hbf, and took the time to walk around the city. It's indeed beautiful!
