good to hear that everybody you know is ok.
how long have the floods been going on now?
I shouldn't be drinking my stash. My budget's screwed.
I can't remember when they started but they've basically been making their way down from various towns and cities in the northern parts of Queensland which is where most of the water has come from, the rest is pretty much from having to open the flood gates to one of the major dams (which is apparently at 190%). Apart from yesterday and NYE I can't remember the last time I saw the sky...totally uncoolWe were given warnings from executive managers on Tuesday and given permission to go home early if we thought our homes were under threat (or if roads to our home were going to get cut off). The worst of it is meant to be some time today according to all reports.
looks like the peak hight of the water was reached right?
hope things will get better from here for you guys!
190% doesn't sound good![]()
so, still nobody?
I'm here, but usually you're too busy to talk anyways
Cheers mateYeah, didn't quite get as high as the floods back in 1974. The other good news is one of the few clubs I actually go to is apparently OK although for safety reasons it has to remain closed (therefore cancelling tomorrow's show
). I still can't believe it as the cool bit of the club is underground and the bottle shop attached to it is at ground level
Next I'd like to know how the other cool clubs/pubs, rehearsal studios and friends' places held up and if all is good I'll consider signing up for volunteer work.
And while I'm here, bbq dinner was tops![]()
