Very good! You must do what is right for you, never mind any one elses opinion, stay true to yourself. You are the only Mormon metalhead that i know as well.

thanks :]
it's sad though... I talked to a couple people at the church thing was at, they said they liked metal... and then I asked what bands they listened to.

i dont really go for the lyics as such, but the overall feel..

i mean half the brutal shit i love, i couldnt tell you the lyrics..they are a rhythmic element

he could be saying "burn Jews" or, "Phil is a wanker from oz" or "808 eats spam too often"

well the thought that Metal will turn you into an evil, drug using criminal is not true as we know. If I am proof of anything, it's that, I've been listening to this stuff for well over 30 yaers and if it would have corrupted me it would have ahappened by now. I've never been arrested, never use drugs etc. So my belief is that Metal is harmless, and it has helped me through some tough times as well. It's been a constant for most of my life.

same here, most of the time I can't understand them. :p
although some bands have at least songs with nice lyrics, which is awesomeness.
but most of the time, I only read the lyrics because I need to.

I just cant imagine living such a strict life

tell me, would you have accepted these beliefs of your own accord had your parents not shown you?

I never went to church or anything when i was young, but in the last few years of my life, I have found some sort of connection with myself and "god"

well I do (eat spam), but yeah I agree, the lyrics are nt importanta and I agree, especially in Death Metal, most of the vocals are not deciferable, and work as an aditional instrument, like another rythm guitar or something. I am an adict for heavy riffs and brilliant screaming guitar solos.

well if I hadn't been brought up in the church, there's no way to say.
for music specifically, my parents actually said I wasn't allowed to listen to metal... they thought it was bad, and all that. but I don't accept things blindly... I fight for what I believe in. :]
and they've come around since. :D

I went to church as a kid, I had no choice in that, my parents made me go, though my dad did not go, he just drove us there and went home and watched football. At that age I really did not want to be there at all. Now I am spiritual and go by my own choice, but I don't preach to others, and believe that it is a personal choice that should not be pushed on ayone.
