depends on how you make it. My parents didn't forbid it fully. I was allowed to play at friend's homes and even to borrow consoles sometimes. But they wouldn't have buyed me an own one. As I said, I'm thankful

very good point! Anything forbidden has a certain draw to it, makes it more enticing.
We are the same with my daughter, she is allowed to play on her friend's consoles, but we have not purchased one for her to have at home.

I think that's a good attitude. You don't make it a forbidden fruit, but you show them that they don't need it in their lives..
