btw. MM, the "gonna get me" thing is probably also a phenomenon of the forum. I get confronted with lots of slang and different dialects in here, that I absorb to my english.

Absolutely, about your first part. But for your sake, I would avoid saying it altogether. It is definitely improper, it's not like "colloquial", it's just wrong. I don't really know why people say it at all.

I don't mean absorbing the dialects is part of knowing english. It's shit, if I use it mixed. I need (and want to) stick to my BE. But to know about the dialects and actually know that something is a certain dialect or slang (being able to distinguish) is what I meant is part of knowing english.

The part of hearing something and being able to figure out that it is not, how I would say it in "my" english. So I didn't mean it's good that my language is affected by the forum, but that I get to know different aspects.
