16 days a year. I'll say no more.

What do you people do before Wednesday anyways? Just generally hang out/meet other people and get drunk?

The Wacken Hot Tub (General Chat)

I arrived on Wednesday morning last year and I know I can come much earlier but I have some work commitments which don't allow me to travel earlier (We don't get the glorious 3-week vacations that most northern Europeans get). But I was hooked after last year and I didn't want to skip the...

Okay, you're the only one who has accepted my offer, so I guess more beer for you then. Just let me know before end-of-July and I'll make sure to buy some before my departure (and if you have any specific brands in mind).

Something like 4 am on 4th August, it's just a transit stop on the way to Hamburg. ;)

Oh, no, I didn't mean it's a non-stop flight. I'll have a 1 hour stop at Helsinki. What I meant to convey was that I wouldn't need to haul the beers around after leaving Singapore and before reaching Hamburg.

Getting back to the beer topic. You guys want to try out some Asian beers (San Miguel, anyone?) for this year's festival? I'm flying in straight from Singapore to Hamburg on the first morning of the festival. Not sure how much I can legally bring in the flight, but I think a couple of liters...

I was about to practice my tenting skills as well... all the pre-pitched tents were sold out, but suddenly one tent became available yesterday and I jumped on it. Also booked my flights today, so it looks fairly certain that i'll be at WOA once again this year. :D

I don't understand why are people "protesting" against them. Throw them in a fucking asylum already. If they think that invading other people's personal rights is okay, they would surely be able to apply the same reasoning when other people invade theirs (by locking them up). Edit : Holy shit...

The thread for old campers, but also new campers! What to take to Wacken!

Might not be needed. The Wacken Bag had foam earplugs in 2015 and it's a part of the 2016 bag as well. I can strongly advocate bringing a fat power bank instead of an AC charger. The charging stations are far, few and always super crowded.

Tent booked and the ticket just arrived in the mail. I am set for WOA 2016! :D

I think I will sell my excess Euros from my trip. I grossly overestimated how expensive Germany was going to be and now I have money stuck in a currency which I'll get to use one a year (if even that). Now seems to be the best time to exchange it back to SGD effectively without losing any money. :D

I just checked Bloodbath's performance at MDF this year and i'm half-way jealous now. They did the Furnace Funeral/Phantasm/Left Hand Path thing there and not at Wacken. :(

Well, it's the same here as well. I would have called in sick, but a lot of super critical stuff on right now, which I couldn't have abandoned.

Well, Singapore is a mixture of a lot of asian cultures, so it's commonplace here as well. And while I'm not Chinese, I think wearing a mask when you're sick is a hygenic/healthy practice, so I follow it as well. I'm way too nice.

Ah, I didn't know. I had kind of stopped checking after a week. Thanks for the tip. :D

Looking for a bunch of people

I know the people you are talking about. They were on my left (4-5 people space between us). The guy who gave me his spot had dark hair. So, not the same person, apparently. :(

Flu here as well, but I can't afford to miss work, dealing with too much critical stuff. I'm currently at the office dressed like a surgeon (without an apron). Complete with a mask and latex gloves. :D This is basically me on the right
