    Yeah lots of heat unfortunately does that. A few years back when france had a heatwave I think a few thousand old people died.

    It drains a lot of energy doesn't it? We officially have a heatwave now, and it's already lasting 12 days. And the forecast is is that it'll stay for atleast an other week, which would make it the longest heatwave in recorded history.

    My experience is that when it's hot there can be some thunderstorms. if that happens things will get muddy really fast and boots will be useful. But I think you can buy boots in the wackenvillage. I know some people who did the last few years.

    Rain/Mud question for the locals..

    I'd say the forecast is somewhat accurate. But keep in mind, even one thunderstorm can turn the wacken grounds into a puddle of mud. So even on hot years it's not uncommon for mud to appear, though maybe not as deep as the past few years. Last year everything seemed fine until we had a shower...
