No Mercyful Fate?!!!

The King isn't coming to Wacken... "No Presents for Chrstmas," indeed!
Time to make like Limp Bizkit and break stuff, y'all. Derp!!

Looking forward to At the Gates, Judas Priest, Onslaught, Rotting
Christ, Udo and Venom. It'll be kind of funny seeing Death Angel there
since I'm used to seeing them play locally in clubs around the Bay Area.
By the time Wacken comes around, it'll have been 20 years since I saw
Death Angel when they reunited for Thrash of the Titans back in 2001.

They're starting to distribute a vaccine around here, should hopefully
be more widely available by Spring. Thank goodness for the beach or
I'd be bouncing off the walls of a rubber room already.

Since Mercyful Fate is booked to play around Europe within a week or
so of Wacken, I'll have to consider options. I'd be kicking myself if I
missed out.

The other likely chance I'll have at seeing Mercyful Fate would be
Psycho Las Vegas fest later in August. The other festival dates in
August are Beyond the Gates(Norway), Brutal Assault(Czech) and
Bloodstock(UK). If they haven't re-added Mercyful Fate and Sodom
back on by this point, I've lost hope that they'll be on the bill for
next year. It shouldn't be a probability, they were one of the first
bands announced for 2020 and easily the most anticipated. The
first person to say Slipknot was the most anticipated... that person
needs to be slapped! lol

Depending on how many flaming hoops we all have to jump through
before we're allowed to travel internationally again, I'll wait and
see if the lockdowns ease up before buying a pass for another
festival. Really, the question will be whether or not they allow
any large-capacity festivals to move forward in the next year.

Looke like hte oxfort/astrazeneca vaccine will be approved in the UK soon and they want to vaccine the first 2 million people with the vaccine in 2 weeks.

They already gave 600K people the pfizer vaccine. So things could go fast if we don't run into any problems here in the EU as well.

As Pfizer needs 2 vaccinations, this splits the number of people into 2. (even though Belgium is considering trying with just ONE vaccination, but that could take a while)

And if all goes well, we'll first have the Moderna vaccine approved by the EMA (European Medicine Agency). But it's like the Pfizer, it needs a keeping temperature of -70°C/-94°F!

The Astrazenica is a bit more mobile. It needs fridge temperatures. (2-5°C/35-41°F) Thus quicker and more mobile.

moderna actually need -20, not -70. so that means it's a bit easier to get around as -20 refrigerators are a lot more common than -70.
however, the netherlands will get next to nothing of the moderna vaccine. we're mostly aiming for the astrazeneca one for now and in the second quarter we hope to have one from johnson and johnson which was created n in the netherlands.

So, the uk just approved the astrazeneca/oxford vaccine, which is great news.
