actually most people even say Amon Amarth and Unleashed are not Viking Metal, coz they aren't black metal, with viking lyrics and musical influences

In my opinion viking metal is defined by viking lyrics with norse folk musical influences think Turisas, Korpiklani, Amon Amarth right through to bathory.

Its a hard one everyone has thier own opinion on viking metal

don't even care what's considered metal or not, I just listen to what I like and that's good enough for me.

Stryper is this really old school christian heavy/glam metal band
they got famous for making christian music popular
(and for throwing bibles of stage, till somebody got injured and sued them)

Yeah genres are subjective and overated! I find it an easy way to classify bands in my collection to help me choose what i feel like listening to or reccomending bands people may like, but i dislike the whole Post-hardcore-premovement-blackened-death-crossgrindd... analism some people put on genres

oh yeah!! like in the dvd! by the my viking friend... i share pretty much your opinion about viking metal. one of the fewest opinions i liked to hear about one of my favorite styles of metal in a long time
