I think it is stupid giving it another name, isn't a genre based on the sound instead of the lyrics

The defination of genre is a grouping of items based on socially accepted conventions.. so lyrical content is fine

Such groupings such as Viking Metal or Ballad Rock exist by lyrical content!!

Ironically i had a similar discussion to this a few days back!

I liked one of the recent ones... can't remember the name of the album, but it had Wings of a Butterfly or something like that... it's been so long

I honestly don't care about what is or isn't black metal/viking metal/whatever other subgenres you could think of
don't even care what's considered metal or not, I just listen to what I like and that's good enough for me.
