No.

In German you don't put all verbs together, but you say first what IS it you do, and than what you're really DOING!

E.g. Ich möchte gern EIN BIER haben.
What do I want? (I would like (...) a beer)
What am I doing? (I'd like TO HAVE)

Hopefully this is clear.

"Möchte gern" is better said as "would love to". But gern(e) is difficult to translate in English.
