Start training!
I have seen many who tried half a marathon, but broke down after 5km. And you have 21km to run!
(damn warnings)

breaking down after 5 km would be pretty embarrassing :D

I have never run 21, but sometimes 10, and I made often big breaks in training. 10 should at least be possible, even with no training at all. Unless you try and run too fast :o

Dunno, but I know from my brother, that he's mostly training for more or less half a year in advance for the Kennedymars (a 80km walk, not run!), and that's no luxoury, if I have to believe him. And another friend of mine is constantly training for the Eindhoven Marathon (September)

Started this morning. :D

I think if you break down after 5km, the problem is in your head. You don't believe in yourself enough and so on.

And hey, I know. :p I volunteer in half marathon and marathon events every year.

I've seen quite big dudes finish it as well... So if I don't give up I should be okay. I think I have mostly problems with believing myself and so on.

It's not just your mind, it's also your body. It has to get used to running for 20km as well.

And remember, behind every corner, there might be the "man with the hammer", knocking you down! :) I wish you won't meet him. ;)

I'm pretty sure marathon and even half marathon is harder than most things i know, but stilli don't realize how to break down after just 5 km.

I'm back!!

I wasn't on the forum for the last week because I attended a Microsoft workshop (Securing Windows Client)

We were 3 in the class and it was a 4-days training session (tuesday to friday) that was done in 2.5 days. On friday, I didn't go to the office :D.. I went to my friend house bottled our last month batch of beer and make another batch.

My friend have a keg with CO2 and we already tasted our beer. 4% IPA (we mess up our mashing step). Quite surprising and happy with the results!

I have to wait 2 more weeks to open my bottles (to make sure that the yeast eat the added sugars to create CO2).

Can't wait to brew again!

it was our 2nd batch and more complicated than the first time.. Had issue with a pump. Had to buy another one, re-do all the fitting and with the new pump, it was not strong enough.

Anyway, we were able to brew and the density was better than the last time. So, we should have a 5% beer.
