Just came from the movies. Went to see Wolverine. It was good!![]()
I just got back from the "Fête de Wallonie" (Wallonian Festivities, Wallonia = French speaking Belgium) and it was nice until they brought up a DJ. That sucked big time. I left.
Now I'm waiting for the fire works, but I reckon I can wait for a while.

Oh that sounds cool!![]()
No fire works.
Well, tomorrow is the last day of the "Fête de Wallonie".
Amd on September 27 it's the celebration of the French Community.
To show you how complicated Belgium can be.

Oh, that's boring.
Yeah, sounds a bit complicated.![]()

Well, Beer here, so...
The Belgian political system in a nut shelf:
One (1) Federal government. (like e.g. in Germany)
3 Regions: Wallonia, Flanders & Brussels. (Quite easy actually, they're geographical)
3 Communities: Dutch, French, and German. (they're more confusing) Brussels is both Dutch ans French speaking, The German speaking is compleately situated in Wallonia.
VGC=Vlaamse Gemeenschaps-Commissie: Dutch community WITHIN Brussels.
CoCoF=Commission Communautaire Francophone: French community WITHIN Brussels.
Now... The Dutch community and Flemish region are one. The VGC is NOT part of it. ('cause it operates only within Brussels)
The Wallonian Government is bilingual FR-DE, because the German community is part of Wallonia. However, it is not part of the French community.
And... the German community has a bit more power than the French community. (because of overlapping competences)
Which adds:
9 governments in Belgium.
The VGC is the smallest, 1 minister. (though he has no power whatsoever)
The German community is the smallest with power. (4 ministers, amoungst them the PM)
And each of them have their "celebration day" but as the Dutch/Flemish tried to merge everything into one, they're stuck with just 1 day.
Confused? Good. So is everyone else in Europe. Even the Belgians.![]()
I hate politics and stuff that have something to do with politics.
I didn't even read all of that because it's too confusing.I hate politics and stuff that have something to do with politics.

I'm still Dutch (Netherlands) and I cannot vote in Belgium. Except for municipality. In a sense I'm lucky. I don't vote in Belgium.I'm still Dutch (Netherlands) and I cannot vote in Belgium. Except for municipality.
BTW, we did get our fire works. Though later than expected.

Oh, okay.
Yeey, that's nice!
But yeah, it's already 2.30am, so bedtime it is! Good night.

How is Finland?![]()
