You could make "Frikadellen". These are meatballs in a rather flat form, mostly served with mustard or ketchup.
For that, you take minced meat (falh cattle / half pork), an egg or so, an onion (diced) and breadcrumb and spice it with salt, pepper and a little paprika.
If you like, you can dice a carrot into really small pieces. Mix everything, form meatballs (like in the picture) of it, turn them in flour and fry them in a pan. Lecker!

You use ca. one pound of meat with two eggs, one onion, one carrot, and use breadcrumb to make a really sticky mass out of it.

I can tell you a good recipe for "Bratkartoffeln" (fried potatoes), although they're better when I make them myself.

You can also serve some Wieners in a bun, or you can look if you find some pretzels (you can buy them freezed from supermarkets over here), or for a more North German touch serve "Fischbrötchen" (fish buns).

Ooo those look yummy. Remind me very much of my homemade meatballs that I make. I use the same meat, eggs, breadcrumb, onions. No carrot though unless I am making meatloaf. But my meatballs are Italian style (basil, oregano, lots of garlic)

Pilsener:
Becks
Flensburger Pils (Best one)
Bitburger
König Pilsener
Warsteiner
Holsten
Jever
Astra (one of my favourites)
5,0 Original Pils (cheap and reasonably good)
Faxe (Danish beer in one liter cans! Halves the amount of deposit)

Strong Beer:
Carlsberg Elephant (up to 10 vol.% alc.)

Lager:
Budvar (I think there're only 0,33l cans)

Black / Dark Beer:
Köstritzer

Weizen:
Schöfferhofer

Altbier:
Diebels Alt (I like it a lot)

...and of course you can buy stuff like Guinness, Kilkenny, Heineken, ...

If you like "soft" beer, you should try some of the "Gold" brands of the bigger breweries, like Becks Gold or Flensburger Gold. Tastes not as strong as the others. German beers might taste bitter, if you're not used to it.

Oh, and small local breweries are always a good idea, but they rarely have cans.

Pretty much my thoughts. I told them at the interview before I got the job I'd be starting school again. If they didn't want that, they didn't have to hire me in the first place.

Good for you for standing up for yourself!. I find that the more crap you are willing to put up with the more they will give you where as if you just put your foot down immediately they are less likely to mess with you.

Turisas was fun. I haven't been to a show in awhile, but once I got there, it was like I was "back home". Really great though. They even did Miklagard Overture.

I never quite managed to appreciate their style. I love the musicality just the singing I can't deal with
