Did you have anything yummy?
I just wore my breakfast. I shook the jar and about the same time realized that I had already taken the lid off![]()

I wish I could have couscous over here at work, but we just have the standard dutch lunch crap... when it comes to food holland sucks![]()
They don't do it here because tax will vary based on which province you are in. There's also some things that are tax exempt, like food and various other items.
we just have a bunch of breads at work with all kinds of things to put on it. there is pretty much nothing around where you can buy lunch.
Back when we still had an office in the citycenter lunch was always great, if there wasn't anything you liked in the office you just went to whatever foodshop you wanted. we had everything around, dutch fastfood, burger king, subways, chinese, turkish, italian, surinamisch( is that the proper word?). basically anything you name, we had it around.
but over here on the edge of the city we've got nothing.

I remember the bread with sprinkles from Amsterdam. We rented an apartment and they included a full fridge/pantry with regular Dutch 'staples' it took me a while to figure out that people liked sprinkles on bread - here we use them for cakes sometimes![]()
I went to the store and found some "spek" (looked like bacon but thinner) and had eggs and toast with butter with it![]()
scrambled eggs (they always come out scrambled wether I want to or not) with bacon on bread or toast.... hmmmmm. yummie.
yeah everywhere else uses it as cakedecoration, we eat it on bread. Peanutbutter with hagelslag.... yummie again....You could always pack a bowl, and a can opener and bring your own - assuming you have some way to heat it?
I think this is the first time![]()

Yeah, normally I like to read first. I suppose I could read before I log in but I can't quote that way and so it would be pointless because normally I just line up all my replies along the top tabs while I read then just click submit one at a time when I am done lol

yeah spek is like the dutch version of bacon I guess
I don't mind eating bread, but it would be nice to have some more variation.
some soup or an other hot meal would be nice atleast once a week.
Fair enough, but why not calculate the prices including tax? At least you can really compare!
Not like now where you've got NO idea what you pay in the end!
Went on my thigh and chair actually - thankfully not IN my lap! I managed to get most of it off and I don't have to leave my office today so I will be fine.

I just log in... quickly post morning and then start reading![]()

Broodje kroket or frikandel is typical Dutch lunch.
home made obviously.
