I remember the bread with sprinkles from Amsterdam. We rented an apartment and they included a full fridge/pantry with regular Dutch 'staples' it took me a while to figure out that people liked sprinkles on bread - here we use them for cakes sometimes :p

I went to the store and found some "spek" (looked like bacon but thinner) and had eggs and toast with butter with it ;)

yeah spek is like the dutch version of bacon I guess :p

I don't mind eating bread, but it would be nice to have some more variation.
some soup or an other hot meal would be nice atleast once a week.

Oh! see you would have to buy it and make it then take it to work :p If you buy lunch you probably don't get much choice. It's the same here. Our cafe has very limited things I want to eat so normally I end up with sushi if I buy anything.

we just have a bunch of breads at work with all kinds of things to put on it. there is pretty much nothing around where you can buy lunch.
Back when we still had an office in the citycenter lunch was always great, if there wasn't anything you liked in the office you just went to whatever foodshop you wanted. we had everything around, dutch fastfood, burger king, subways, chinese, turkish, italian, surinamisch( is that the proper word?). basically anything you name, we had it around.
but over here on the edge of the city we've got nothing.
