I could have drove the van. I learned to drive on a stick so it's no problem to me, and I think you all drive on the same side of the road so should also not be a problem.. but he argued and I always let him win
A European drivers' license is valid in America (US+Canada), so a Canadian should be valid in the EU.
@Koldawne, we drive on the right side of the road, with the stearing wheel on the left, like in Canada. (I've seen it with my own eyes) Unless the rules in QC are different.
Only thing is: we have to keep right on the highway. You can overtake one on the left only, but not stick on the left lane. (though MANY do it anyways) (and it's in km/h but I guess that's the same in Canada)

That's the way it 'should' be here too but the same..many people like to drive in the left lane all the time. The rest is all the same.

Well if I already HAVE a licence it is not too hard to get one to drive elsewhere especially since there is no real change to rules as far as I can tell.

No difference then.
The only time I saw it, was when we took the bus from Toronto ON (airport) to Rochester NY (USA) (and back of course)

Exactly! All Europeans (EU) get an international drivers' license. Valid in at least the EU (and elsewhere as a tourist).
I don't know how it's done the other way. I heard that you have to have an international license from the US to drive here. (But it's the state that gives it)
