It's Remembrance day here on Sunday (I don't know if you all have that there) so I will be stuck downtown for about 4 hours listening to the ceremony. Maybe I will have time to do some laundry but nothing "fun" for me either.

Yes, same word. That's the 'proper' name for it actually. People just say Remembrance Day for those who have no idea

Point is, you're leaving the country quicker than you think, meaning, everything different including the language. It's not like north America where everybody speaks English (except Québec ) and it's allmost all the same. (apart from regional settings)
Even though you've got "free passage" within Europe. (actually, within the EU)
