I was talking about Japan being in similar proximity from USA (more specifically the west coast) to Australia (specifically no further north than Brisbane). They'd only need one plane to get to America too.

Well, that's a huge difference of course. Dutch is really close by hearning, I understood a lot anyway. And I was always around the Dutch community and had friends to help me with questions. I don't really know a Japanese person on earth...

OK, language speaking, there is a huge difference between Dutch (especially for a German) and Japanese.

There is big difference for me too. German is much easier to learn because I already know some english and swedish. Maybe I will know some german (understand) by the time I'll get there.

I'm here every day and speaking with my german friend almost daily. Maybe I will try some online course too or maybe I'll be too lazy. We will see.
