50K Before Wacken 2012

I don't know how it used to be so I will have fun anyway

Wacken 2010 was my first international festival and also my first overseas holiday. Nothing in this country can ever compare to how much fun I had (even though I only saw one full set ) which is the reason I'm going again, only this time I'm going to expect the unexpected (unlike last time when I expected to see 100 bands).

You Germans are spoilt compared to us Australians

It's not that you shouldn't go because I/we say so. I had 13 Wackens so I know what it's like now. And for me that's enough.

But that shouldn't stop you from either going or having fun! On the contrairy!

Er, I'm NOT German. Yet I'm spoiled to be close enough to Germany to be able to go to the festivals I want to go to.

Yet I'm spoiled to be close enough to Germany to be able to go to the festivals I want to go to.

Yeah...exactly! Come to an Australian festival and see how fucking expensive it is, how shit the line-ups are and more importantly how terrible the sound is, then try saving up for a plane trip back to Europe. If it weren't for the weather... jk

I'm hoping to see some bands this time too My strategy is to find out which bands are also playing Headbangers, Bloodstock or Summer Breeze and not bother trying to see them at Wacken. I won't mind if anyone asks me if I would like to have a beer/jager breakfast with them, drink out of a watermelon with them or play a few games of Ring of Fire again

If I lived in Germany and wanted to go to a festival to see bands, then I probably wouldn't choose Wacken either...but fuck it - it's my holiday and I'll drink if I want to

I have my own german drinking buddy (I hope he won't read this and dislike beeing called drinking buddy) already "assigned" to me and I'm sure there will be many other people too
