Yeah they do that kind of stuff. I've had some of those "review homework" classes for several hours, about 3 times as long as the actual homework assignment.

Yea, pretty much.

This is part of why public education isn't as good as it could be. All the classes are "one size fits all", and the "size" pretty much always caters to the people who struggle, as far as pacing and such. So the people who work faster and learn the material easier are left bored.

Let's cheer for future tech. ;)

Future tech as in that classes are now available online, or do you mean that we're not far enough ahead yet because this one isn't? :p

My high school chemistry class is the best example of that. It was "honors chemistry" so it was designed for smarter people. Yet we'd learn one new concept per day, and spend the rest of the class working on problems to practice it. I'd do one or two and have it down, and then I'd basically have to sit there for an hour or more while all the supposedly "smart" people struggled.:o I guess it's because they weren't actually all that smart, they just worked hard so they had good grades.

Very true, pretty much all education is focused on getting the "bad learners" through somehow, instead of stimulating actual growth in students.

The latter, eventually, all classes will be available online and probably with some choices which one is needed for you and which one isn't.

I'm fine with people working hard to get good grades even if they struggle with the new challenges, as long as there is some sort of challenge for the people who don't have similar issues.

Yea. I guess they want to raise test scores, so they do it by trying to focus on the ones at the bottom. But if you want real results, both in test scores and the overall knowledge level of the entire country, you've got to help everyone.

True, but that doesn't help me now. :p Literature classes are always the most boring classes I've ever had, and I won't need any more after this one.

Same. I really think there should be multiple levels in classes, in all grades and in college. Classes for the slower learners, and classes for the fast, with some in between. It'd work a lot better that way.

Basically schools should be judged more by student's evalution instead of average student schools.

Well at least that's some good news. ;)

Yeah, or at least differenciate in the exercises depending on your performance.

Yea... there needs to be a different way of evaluating them, at least. Basing it off test scores can cause problems. Such as cheating. Not by the students, by the teachers... the Atlanta school system actually was recently involved in a huge cheating scandal.

Or something like that.

Happens a lot here as well. Like modifying test results or giving higher base marks then what they tell the inspection (the lowest mark here is a 1 but some schools secretly use systems that start counting from 4 to prevent students giving them a bad reputation.
