Hi all,

Yep I'm a noob to this forum :) I have a question which I hoped someone here would be able to answer.

I'm a 21 year old Australian girl who is going to Wacken 2011, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is acceptable for me to wear army GP boots? I wear them to shows over in Australia but I'm worried that it may offend people in Germany, or people might think I am a skinhead if I wear them. Oh btw, they are not steel capped, just leather.

Thanks guys, hope someone can help me!!

Well I can tell you everyone's wearing boots at Wacken. I myself got Army boots too. Dunno if that GP thing is a special kind, but do people really recognise them just by looking, assuming they even know what they are..? I don't think anyone will notice nor give a crap to be honest ;)

Thanks so much Sipyloidea :) GP just stands for general purpose so I think they are dress boots but nothing fantastic hehe.

the 7 times i've been there I've always had boots, no problem at all.
I would actually recommend anybody to take boots with them, specially when it's a rainy (an thus muddy) year.

I've worn steel capped (with leather on top though) boots for my 5 WOA:s.

Never heard any complaints and it's saved my toes in some crowds and kept my feet dry in muddy places.

Haha, it's fine. Well since GP isn't any special kind of Nazi boot with big golden swastikas stamped all over it, I can assure you, there's no problem at all :D Boots are boots, they're no offensive symbol of anything ;)
