word, yeah my dad dives around the islands and in the channel here pretty often, but the biggest shark he's ever seen was in hawaii.

great whites are definitely more of a nor-cal thing anyhow.

Wow that is surprising. I've seen small ones, 4 foot at the largest while surfing, never anything large, my friends have seen some monsters though.

yeah nor cal and Australia. They prefer colder water, they are only seldom seen here, very very rare.

A week ago saturday I was watching stingrays and smaller sharks swimming in a man made pond at a resort here. It was very cool.

I try not to think about it but man do i still get freaked sometimes, especially when the break is far away from the shore...

Got caught in a riptide today though, that sucked, paddling my ass off and getting sucked farther out to sea...we were already surfing a pretty offshore break so it was pretty freaky.

but I was just swimming in the ocean, and a stingray came along... not exactly a good thing
